Particle Design Process Solutions for Optimised Additives and Fillers at the European Coatings Show 2023

28 – 30 March 2023  –  Nuremberg, Germany

Meet the Glatt experts at booth 3-732

The product requirements of paints and coatings are versatile, but the properties of commercially available fillers or additives are often not. Glatt experts will therefore be in attendance at the ECS in Nuremberg from 28 to 30 March 2023, to explain how this gap can be closed with optimised powders and particles. As a leading company for powder synthesis, fluid bed and spouted bed technology, Glatt will provide insights into successful customer projects for particle design, process planning and plant engineering at booth 3-732.

At the ECS, Glatt will showcase how particle properties can be specifically influenced to improve the functionality of powdered bulk components and formulation ingredients for paints, coatings, dispersions and dry mixes. Thus, fine particles with a defined composition and tailor-made surface properties can be produced by means of Glatt powder synthesis and fluid bed technology. These dispersible nano-pigments, coated fillers and catalytically active additives for coatings are both functional and effective. Coated powders ensure optimised bonding between fillers and coatings, and precisely defined gloss properties of the varnishes can also be controlled.

Know-how transfer for superior solutions

Glatt technologies are used in a wide range of industries and applications, for example in the food industry, animal feed production and agricultural chemistry, and for the production of detergents and cosmetics. The diverse process options of powder synthesis, fluidised bed and spouted bed technologies enable particle properties that also offer clear advantages in the industries relevant to ECS visitors. Examples are the defined adjustment of bulk densities, the stabilisation of mixtures or the separation of active substances by coating the individual components. Particles can be coated with a functional protective layer. Such a coating protects active substances in dry mixtures and can, for example, bring about increased transport and storage stability, reduced sensitivity to light and better protection against oxygen, moisture and higher temperatures.

With many years of technology and process know-how in the design of novel particles from nano to macro, the Glatt team supports the realisation of new product ideas for paints, lacquers, coatings, sealants and adhesives, or construction chemicals. Together with its customers, Glatt develops and refines the manufacturing process, and selects the appropriate technology and plant size. In line with the integrated service offering “from product idea to industrial production“, Glatt also plans and implements complete production facilities.
