The VDI conference “Sewage Sludge Treatment” will take place for the tenth time this year. It will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Ing. Reiner Numrich, University of Paderborn. DPP is again media partner of the event.

In addition to legal innovations, technical solutions for the mechanical or thermal treatment of sewage sludge will be presented. Another important topic is the recovery and utilization of valuable materials, in particular the valuable resource phosphorus from sludge water, dewatered sewage sludge or sewage sludge ash.

The following topics will be discussed in Mainz, among others:

• Implementation of the sewage sludge ordinance and resulting consequences
• Dewatering and drying of sewage sludge
• Experiences with planning, construction and operation of small, decentralized and large mono-incineration plants
• Experience reports on sewage sludge incineration in waste incineration plants
• Strategies, new processes, project results and implemented plants for P-recycling

The conference is aimed at technical directors, technical managers, plant managers of wastewater treatment plants, power plants and incineration plants that co-incinerate sewage sludge (e.g. cement, paper, chemical industries, etc.), planning engineers from technical engineering offices, employees of environmental/civil engineering offices, manufacturers of complete plants and plant components, and employees of approval authorities.

On the day before the conference (September 17, 2019), you can get an overview of the types of drying available on the market at the VDI Special Day “Drying of Sewage Sludge”. The events can be booked individually or in combination, then at a reduced price.
